The government has proposed a new law to allow the interception of calls and encrypted messaging on services like WhatsApp.

On services like WhatsApp, Telegram, Google Meet, Signal, etc., the Indian government has proposed a new rule that would enable it to intercept encrypted messages, calls, and video calls.

End-to-end encrypted services are always preferred by users in the modern era who are aware of privacy and security issues. Because of this, businesses like Meta will spend billions on advertising only to claim that their services have this capability. Due to the fact that the conversation on these platforms is encrypted, platforms like Signal and Telegram were also successful in overtaking WhatsApp and grabbing a sizable portion of the IM market.
